New year, new writing room (I hope).
This year I'm changing a lot of stuff around. We have a granddaughter who comes to stay quite a lot now and it would be lovely if she had her own room so I was thinking... why not go up rather than extend?
So, we've set to and made a start on the attic today.
So far, we've filled a large bag with clothes for charity and a smaller bag with rubbish. The living room is also full - so much for creating more space, so far we've got LESS.
We've found a lot of interesting things too - clothes from when I was a teen (which look far too small for me to have ever worn them). My extensive comic collection, including an original Dredd movie poster, still in the tube it arrived in is proving to be a temptation, I want to read them all!
I found two old tenners (ten pound notes)
Old computer discs, manuals and other bumph and an eclectic range of utter CRAP that I cannot believe we wanted to keep!
It's all interesting though, and we'll crack on tomorrow. Then the real work will begin, sorting through the mouse-chewed 'treasures' and throwing ruthlessly (yeah, right).
I just know we've got lots of other stuff and I dare say it will take a lot longer than we estimate to get it all sorted, thrown/donated and re-packed back into the attic so I can start to get my new office insulated and decorated in time for the summer when I'll enjoy the fabulous view from the skylights.
Oh, apparently, the camera is worth around £35 according to ebay - bonus!
