I love my life!
I really do. Sure there are stressful and worrying times, times when I wonder what happens next or 'why did that happen?' but for the vast majority of the time, I really do love my life. I'm a very fortunate person, I believe. Who can say that they truly enjoy their work, their career and their job? Mine encompasses my love of writing, so I'm set. I get to be creative and to mix with creative people. I'm surrounded by a wealth of exceptionally talented, kind and generous people and if that's not lucky, I don't know what is.
A good friend of mine says you make your own luck, I suppose that's true. "You get back what you put out there..." - yes, that's true too. But really, honestly and truthfully, I do feel exceptionally LUCKY to have had the opportunities come my way for me to grab hold of.
Last month I grabbed the chance to go away on a family break. We went to Egypt - no, not the pyramids etc, that would have been a hard slog, we went for a relaxing break. It wasn't the best holiday we've ever had but it was enough to recharge batteries and as it turned out, I really needed mine recharging - especially in light of what I came home to!
Because of the Egypt trip, AWESOME Magazine was out late this month (no, not that it went partying and didn't get back til the early hours) I missed the deadline for publication and the Team worked like Trojans to get it out. I expected it to be available for the weekend, well it is! It went live yesterday (Tuesday). Now, that's a great feeling, seeing what you've achieved being shared and passed around on Facebook and Twitter and the like. I couldn't have done it on my own of course, I have a wonderful and supportive team at my side - when it became clear that it was going to be delayed, the offers of help came flooding in - that's the AWESOME team for you.
The magazine looks amazing. I don't know what happened to make it a little bit more special this month, but something did and I'm getting comments complimenting me on how great it's looking - well, it wasn't just me, it's never just me. I cannot do all that work on my own.
Here we go then:
Eirian Cohen
Rachel Malone
Melissa Hollett
Jack Burrows
and of course
Phil Gardiner
All of these people are unselfish, generous friends who have no concept of 9-5 working and I appreciate everything that they have to offer because they are HUGELY talented, passionate people who have no qualms when it comes to giving of themselves.
Yep, I'm a lucky, lucky person. I love my life!
