I've been persuaded to go for this writing challenge again this year. Last year's effort was dismal, I didn't get anything done really... just the beginning of an idea for a story that hasn't been looked at since. So what am I going to write for this year's challenge? I decided to proceed with the vampire story I'm currently writing. I'll start from where I got up to - word count to be confirmed but it's around 15,000 give or take.
I'll keep you updated with that and possibly post snippets of it in this blog as I'm going too.
October's gone
Well the year is almost over, just one sixth to go now and I'm asking myself not only "Where did the year go???" but also "What have I done with my year?"
So I'll go for a re-cap.
I actually wanted to have two new novels out this year, as you can see, that hasn't happened as I planned it. I have four novels part-written and a lot of other projects sitting waiting for me to pick them back up again.
The first part of the year seemed so promising too!
We celebrated my husband's 50th birthday with friends from Canada and then we went on a short break where I got my head down and wrote 25,000 words on a project in just one week! Just to put that into perspective, that's half a NaNoWriMo done in a quarter of the time allotted.
In April we became grandparents and Oh My Goodness that really IS AWESOME.
May started out horrendously for our family. My husband had a heart attack and the first few days were simply awful. The best news out of all that was that he's all good, it was a 'warning' and there's no damage! The month decided to be a little kinder and later on it led to me becoming the Editor of AWESOME Online Magazine - EXCITING stuff!
Around that time, I also had the wonderful news that - Dusty the Demon Hunter - my short story series was going to be made into a movie - It just doesn't get any better than this does it?
June/July and I was immersed into a whole new sphere for me. Philip Gardiner asked if I'd like to be Producer on Exorcist Chronicles, his new movie. So the work began!
August seems to have gone by in a complete blur! We were filming the movie and we celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary.
What did I do in September? Loads of stuff to do with the movie and catching up on everything (except my writing, unfortunately).
October was a blast, I'm Producing another movie with Phil - Dead Walkers - and Oh BOY! This looks exciting!
Just on the cusp of October/November, Phil decided to throw a little 'fun' into the heady mix of movie-making. He asked a throw-away question about making a zombie movie. The response is phenomenal so I'm having a go at writing the script!
I'm looking forward to November and then of course December when we'll no doubt be overjoyed with our delightful granddaughter as she experiences her very first Christmas... I wonder if Phil will let me borrow his camera? - Maybe not!
I wonder what 2013 will bring? Well, whatever it decides to throw at me, I hope I'll meet it with the same level of excitement and enthusiasm as I have with the challenges of this year!
Onward and Upward!
I'll keep you updated with that and possibly post snippets of it in this blog as I'm going too.
